Hindi Hands

Rijeka, February to March 2016

{art project} [performance, community engagement]

A sense of intimacy exists in holding a person's hand, similar to the intimacy of conversing with others in a shared language. This performance explores intimacy as a shared experience while also addressing exclusion; exploring how language (and script) expels an individual within a system of identity. While also looking at the consequences of creating a space of inclusion.

The performance was devised and executed as part of an artist exchange and residency programme with The Academy of Applied Arts and The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Arts, Rijeka, Croatia. Participants and collaborators were students from the Academy of Applied Arts, Rijeka.
